Description
The marriage and family therapy (MFT) programme is a graduate-level professional training designed to prepare clinicians to assess and treat psychological distress in the context of couples, families, and broader relational systems. It integrates family systems theory with evidence-based psychotherapy models to equip practitioners to intervene where patterns of interaction, communication, and meaning contribute to problems and resilience. A defining feature is supervised clinical practice: students must complete a substantial number of direct client hours (300, with a significant portion involving couples/families) under qualified supervision, often in university-affiliated clinics and community placements.
